To enable secure transfer of large files, we use Google Drive both to transfer your files to be processed to our servers and for us to return the processed files back to you. If you have not yet set up the Google Drive transfer folder, please see the setup guide first.
In this guide you will find details on how to:
Accessing the transfer folder
To access the transfer folder, visit https://drive.google.com, click on the "shared with me" icon on the left on the screen, and the shared folder should be visible.
If you double click on this folder, you will see three folders:
The three folders are:
- temp_upload: Used to upload files to our servers
- temp_download: Used to download files from our servers
- example_files: Files used in tutorials
All files in your transfer folder (and these three sub-folders) are shared between you and Menai Insight, and any files that you upload are automatically synced. They are intended to be used as temporary locations to copy files to/from: this should not be the primary location that you store your files, as old files may periodically be deleted.
Upload Process
To upload a file to our servers, click the 'New" symbol in the top left corner,
and select 'File Upload'.
As explained further in [LINK], Menai Insight supports either csv files, either as individual files or multiple files zipped together into a single zip file. Files should be named beginning with your username and can be followed by letters and numbers (no symbols) as you desire.
Download Process
As soon as your files have been processed you will receive an email indicating that they are complete. They are then able to be downloaded from the Downlaod folder, by right-clicking on the file and selecting download. Once downloaded you may also delete the file from the same menu.
