Note: This document explains how to set up an individual transfer folder; if you have already set up your individual transfer folder, and want to collaborate with others, we can also set up a collaborative folder (i.e., accessible by multiple subscribers), please contact support.
Overview
We use Google Drive as primary means for uploading documents for processing, and downloading processed files, due to its security, ability to easily transfer large files, user-friendly interface and ease of setup (e.g., relative to FTP). Further details about Google Drive can be found here.
All documents are transferred via a shared Google Drive folder. This folder is shared only between you and us, and we do not have any access to any other files or folders that you may have on Google Drive.
Setting up the Google Drive shared folder
To set up the shared folder, all we need to know is the email address associated with your Google Drive account which need not be the same email as the one you subscribed to Menai Insight). The standard free Google Drive account comes with 15GB of storage; this should be completely sufficient to use our services.
If you already use Google Drive
If you already use Google Drive, just submit that email that you use via the contact below, and we will get the folder setup.
If you have a Google Account (e.g., a Gmail / university Google Account), but don't use Google Drive
If you have a Google Account, for example for accessing Gmail, then you likely already have access to Google Drive. To check this, visit https://www.google.com/drive/ - if you are able to log in, then that account is good.
If you are using an education/organization Google Account, it is possible for your university/organization to disable usage of Google Drive. If that is the case, you may need to use a different account. If so, see instructions below.
If you do not have a Google Account
If you do not already have a Google Account, you will need to set one up, which you can easily do here. This is a simple process, and you can use your existing email address (i.e., you do not need to use or set up a Gmail address).
