One of the benefits of the Faculty PRO account is the ability to add up to two PhD (or RA) connected accounts. This page clarifies how we handle situations where the primary faculty member cancels or downgrades their subscription on the linked PhD account.
If the primary faculty member moves to a different university
While we require the PhD student to be from the same university as the faculty member, existing linked accounts can continue unaffected (if the primary faculty member decides to remove existing PhD students when moving, then this is handled as detailed below).
If the primary faculty member ends or downgrades their account
We provide a 2-month grace period for PhD students if the primary account member downgrades or ends their account from the Faculty PRO account to a Faculty ESSENTIAL account, to give the PhD student a transition period before moving to a separate plan. If you are in this position, please contact support to discuss options.
If the primary faculty member removes you from their account
If the primary faculty member asks us to remove you from their account, your access will unfortunately immediately end. If you are in this position, please contact support to discuss options.
While linked PhD accounts are included as part of the Faculty PRO subscription, they are also available as separate subscriptions, at a substantial discount over faculty plans. In addition, while Faculty PRO accounts come with up to two linked-PhD accounts included, it is possible to add more if required (contact support to discuss further).
